Serene Slumbers

Client Brief -
Design a peaceful master bedroom that incorporated the large queen bedframe, headboard, and tall dresser owned by the clients, as well as add more storage furniture for clothes.

Inspiration -
A Calvin Klein duvet in beige, cream, grey, and pale blue.

Challenge -
Space planning created the largest challenge in this room, as there were three windows, three closets and dormer ceilings to work around.

Outcome -
A serene retreat with a color palate designed around the inspiration duvet. The pale blue flowers in the duvet were selected to use as the wall color, as well as accent pillows. To keep the room light and airy, yet add an elegant feel, silk drapes were chosen in a cream. A beige area rug, played off the ground color of the duvet. Additional storage pieces were added that took up little space, but provided multiple uses. The side tables, accommodated alarms, phones and lighting, while also providing drawers for clothes. A bench at the end of the bed could be utilized for more storage and also serve as a place to put all the throw pillows when in bed. The space was transformed to meet all the client's storage needs, while remaining uncluttered and relaxing.
